Law Office of Alex T. Shapiro

My Vision

I started this firm to help those who served obtain the benefits that they earned and deserve.

I used to litigate on behalf of large insurance companies, and defended them against all aspects of workers' compensation claims. I worked in a high-volume, big law firm and helped them expand their offices throughout California. But I found that my passion for advocacy was leading me elsewhere - I wanted to help people and give them a voice, not faceless insurance companies. I decided to leave that world and bring the "defense attorney playbook" to those who needed it most.

The skills, which I honed in my litigation career blended nicely with those required of a veterans' attorney. I pride myself on being a "deep diver" into the medical pathology, and I know what the VA commonly misses in veterans' claims. My vision is to win your claim with due diligence, listening, and intelligent strategy.

I get no greater satisfaction than when I help the veterans who served our country. I will do whatever it takes to make sure that you and your family are taken care of and heard.

Prior Experience

Alex represents veterans before the Board of Veterans' Appeals, the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims and all regional VA offices. He is VA accredited and admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.

He received his Juris Doctor from the University of California Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco; his certificate in Paralegal Studies, with distinction, from the University of California, Los Angeles; and his undergraduate degree in economics from the University of California, San Diego, where he participated in the Mock Trial National Tournament and was Philanthropy Committee Organizer for Phi Alpha Delta.

Prior to helping our nation's veterans, Alex honed his litigation skills in all aspects of workers’ compensation litigation. He analyzed complex medical records and conducted all matters of discovery and research, as well as handled all Trials and hearings before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board. However, Alex could not resist the draw of helping our nation’s veterans.

Passion

It is difficult to be successful at something if you are not happy and passionate about what you do. That is why I do what I love - bringing a voice to those who need it the most.

I love working with veterans, hearing their stories, and getting to know them as individuals.

You have a tremendous personal story, and I love making your journey and story come alive before the Judge whom will decide your claim.
